CHURCHSTOKE’S Jockey A have been crowned Mid Wales Stoves Newtown Premier League champions.
Having lost out late in the campaign having led for most of last season the title triumph meant all the more to the Jockey players.
A 9-5 victory over Llanbadarn secured the title and ensured defending champions the Full Montys had to be content with second place.
Berriew’s Talbot completed the second division season unbeaten to be crowned champions and secure a place in the premier league.
The Sws also sealed a place in the top tier thanks to victory over Buck B.
Meanwhile the fight for the third division title continues with both Sportsman A and Cefn Coch A both in contention having already secured promotion.
The sides clash on Sunday in a vital game in the fate of the title.
