RYAN Hawksworth has returned to the helm of Maesyrhandir Football Club.

Hawksworth succeeds Jamie Re who took on the role after Hawksworth was forced to step aside due top health issues in November.

However Hawksworth has since recuperated and will resume his role at Maldwyn Leisure Centre based club.

Hawksworth said: “I am really pleased to be back in the seat and thank Jamie for continuing where I left off.

“We are hoping the the season continues so we can kick on and get a great platform in place for next season.”

The club is currently battling relegation in JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League One.

However the season has been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic with doubts over whether the campaign will resume.

A club statement read: “Jamie Re has stepped down as manager of the Rhandir and the board thanked him for all his hard work after taking over in November after Ryan Hawksworth stepped down due to health issues.

“Ryan is now fully fit has taken the post again and full of energy and enthusiasm.”

Meanwhile the club has thanked its sponsors for their ongoing support.

“The club would like to thank our sponsors at G Jones Construction, the Buck Inn in Newtown, Robert Lewis Landscapes, Evans Cafe and Regina Ribelle for the support.”
