LLANIDLOES Town hope it will be a case of history repeating this season.
Last time the club won the Mid Wales League Cup the Daffodils also proceeded to win the league title in 2013.
The club sit 16 points clear at the top of the table and shift their focus to the visit of Kerry in the quarter-final of the league cup on Saturday.
Spokesman Rob Hughes said: “We would really like to make a good go of this league cup competition.
“Kerry are a tough side to break down as they showed when we played them in the league late last January at Dolforgan Park when they led and we had to pull out something extra special to claw something back.
“We are expecting them to come out of the starting blocks at full throttle. This is a cup tie and different to league games as it’s an ‘all or nothing’ type affair.
“It is important we remain organised and adhere to the philosophy of focusing 100 per cent on the game in front of us on Saturday.”
