JAMES Potter celebrated a unique treble last week.
The Welshpool based horse owner toasted three wins across two cards at Doncaster and Newbury on Friday.
Such feats are usually reserved for larger stable owners like JP McManus and Michael O’Leary.
However on a never to be forgotten day Sam Twiston-Davies rode the 5/1 Excelerator Express to victory in the 888Sport Bet Novices’ Hurdle in Doncaster.
Not to be outdone Richard Patrick rode the 5/4 It’s Probably Me to glory in the 888Sport Take ‘Em On British EBF Mares’ National Hunt Novices’ Hurdle.
To complete a remarkable day Liam Treadwell steered Billingsley to a 7/2 win to lift the Geoffrey Gilbey Trophy by winning the Oakley Coachbuilders Handicap Chase in Newbury.
The remarkable day ensures the Potter stable head into next week’s Cheltenham Festival in fine fettle with six horses in action.
Mister Fisher will be in action in the Racing Post Arkle Trophy, Welsh Saint will contest the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle and Stolen Silver lines-up n the opening race of the festival, the Sky Bet Supreme Novices Hurdle.
