GERWYN Coleman has been forced to retire following an injury sustained in Machynlleth's 19-10 win at Rhos in North Wales League Three on Saturday.
Coleman suffered a broken arm and dislocated wrist inside the opening quarter of an hour.
However despite being reduced to 12 men through injury by the break the Mid Wales side were still in the game at the interval and a storming second-half display sealed the points.
Kameron Simmons-Sandy led the way with a try and two conversions while Steffan Price and Rhys Lewis also celebrated tries.
However victory was marred by club stalwart and player-coach Coleman who has now brought the curtain down on his career having captained and presided over the club during his 20 year association which began when he was aged 11.
Captain Huw Llyr and chairman Rhys Morris led the tributes to the popular clubman and thanked him for his long years of service to his hometown club both on and off the field.
Morris said: "We wish Gerwyn a speedy recovery and we are sure he will still be very much involved with the team and club."
Elsewhere Llandrindod Wells slipped to a 17-6 defeat at Llanrumney in WRU Division Three East Central C with Ash Hammond kicking a pair of penalties in consolation for the visiting Budgies
