YSGOL Dyffryn Trannon are North Powys Indoor Athletics Small Schools champions.

The Trefeglwys school came out on top at Newtown’s Maldwyn Leisure Centre with a triumphant 352 points.

Guilsfield claimed second place with 338 points, just ahead of Caersws with 238.

Maesyrhandir claimed fourth spot with 232 points with Treowen fifth with 226 and St Marys ended sixth with 218.

Jonny Roberts of Sport Powys said: “The quality on show was fantastic, it’s really good to see so many keen young athletes in the area competing at such a high standard.

“A huge thank you to all the staff that brought the children from the various schools, it was great to see so many different areas represented.”
