FORDEN United face one of their sternest tests of the season at home to Newbridge on Saturday.

Manager Jonny Roberts warned his side to learn lessons from their previous meeting with the Bridgemen.

“We face a tough match against a good young Newbridge side who really taught us a lesson when we went to play them earlier in the season,” said Roberts.

“We’ll need to shake off the rust from not playing due to the storms and rain these last few weeks if we’re going to stand any chance of getting a positive result.”

Newbridge manager Scott Davies insisted the next game was all the club looked forward to.

“Winning the next game has been our focus all season,” said Davies. “We are hopeful the game will be on after two waterlogged weekends.”

Davies spoke of his admiration for his side’s weekend hosts.

“We faced Forden pretty early in the season on a Friday evening, but the score line didn’t tell the whole story. I was impressed with Forden that night, who played three at the back, with energetic wing backs and strong players in the middle of the park.”

Churchstoke make the short trip to Abermule with manager Chris Haycock relishing the prospect.

“We are looking forward to a local derby against a very underrated side,” said Haycock. “It should be a good game as the sides are evenly matched.”

Elsewhere Rhayader Town travel to Dyffryn Banw on the back of their shock 3-2 defeat at Aberystwyth University on Monday night.

Manager Dai Davies confirmed he would ring changes to his squad for the trip to Llangadfan.

Davies said: “After the performance in Aberystwyth we will be making some changes to the squad.

“I will be looking for a massive reaction and expect the boys to be raring to go and right the wrongs from Monday night’s performance which was not good enough.”

Elsewhere Dolgellau entertain Knighton Town and Presteigne host Borth United while Waterloo Rovers welcome Aberystwyth University to Maesydre.
