SIX schools took part in a Llanfair Caereinion area sports indoor athletics decathlon.
More than 170 pupils from Llanfair Caereinion, Banw, Llanerfyl, Pontrobert, Meifod and Ysgol Rhiw Bechan schools took part in activities including running, jumping, throwing and balance activities.
A spokesman said: “It is an event which allows children to thrive in a non competitive environment and will give some the realisation of an enjoyment and talent in athletics.
“Hopefully it will lead some to joining Maldwyn Harriers Junior Section who train on a Wednesday evening in Newtown and continue the conveyor belt of talented athletes that are being produced regularly in the county.”
