NEWTOWN Football Club hosted a successful five-a-side women’s festival at Latham Park last month.
Seven teams took part with more than 40 players participating in a superb day for women’s football.
Berriew and Bishops Castle were both represented by two sides while Newtown, Newtown College and Welshpool completed the line-up.
Organiser Paul Inns said: “I’d like to thank Newtown Football Club for hosting the women’s five-a-side festival free of charge.
“I’m sure the festival, together with the previous festival held at Berriew, will act as a springboard to advance the ladies game in the area, with a competitive women’s five aside league, to be hosted by Berriew Football Club, to be announced shortly.”
