THE Davies family has enjoyed a stellar year on the saddle.

The Crossgates family represented Abegavenny Cycling Club in both the Welsh Cyclocross League (WCL) and National Trophy Series (NTS).

Father Tim and son Spencer starred in the V50 and junior categories at Singleton Park, Llandysul and Pembrey to end on the podium.

Meanwhile Tim’s younger son Oscar also rode with distinctionwith several top ten placings in his WCL U14 category races.

In the WCL overall standings Tim was crowned champion, Spencer was junior runner up, tying on points with the champion but placing second overall on the count back.

Meanwhile Oscar placed fifth in the U14s overall.

Tim and Spencer also competed around the UK in the NTS with a superb third place for Tim in the fifth round at Pembrey in Carmarthenshire and a fifth place overall in the series while Tim was crowned the V50 Welsh Champion.

In late December, as part of a trip organised by the Wales Off Road Academy, Spencer, along with fellow Powys rider Sam Ryland (Cycle-Tec) competed in the Super Prestige night race in Diegem where Davies placed 73rd and Ryland 79th and the following day Davies and Ryland raced in the Ethias Cross in Bredene, placing 36th and 38th respectively.

Last month Tim and Spencer competed in the British National Cyclocross Championships in Shrewsbury with father ending fifth V50s race and son 28th in the juniors race.
