Llanfair United Colwyn Bay 3

LLANFAIR United handed high flying Colwyn Bay a fright before falling to a slender home defeat.

Karl Seliaerts tested Bay goalkeeper Andy Coughlin the first opening of the game after 30 minutes before the visitors seized the lead moments later through Toby Jones.

Bay doubled their lead on half-time with Callum Parry netting Mitch Bryant's cross before the latter added a third on the hour.

However United were sparked into life with 20 minutes remaining when Will Bell put through his own net under pressure.

Llanfair continued to take the game to their illustrious opponents and belied their own lowly league standing to leave Bay on the back foot for the remainder of the game.

Llanfair's efforts to get back into the game were frustrated until the closing minute when Gethin Jones raced through to fire past Coughlin.

However it was too late for the hosts to salvage a point as Bay held out to claim a slender victory while United remain bottom.
