Penrhyncoch 2
Rhyl 1
PENRHYNCOCH proved too strong for Rhyl at Cae Baker.
A first-half of few chances saw Sam Molyneux and Connor Harwood test home goalkeeper Leigh Jenkins while opposite number Rory Crowther denied Jonny Evans at the other end.
Tom Creamer spurned an opening early in the second-half and Penrhyn punished the visitors on 57 minutes with Steffan Davies swivelling home.
Penrhyn doubled their lead five minutes later with Tom Evans following up to net after Crowther denied Ifan Burrell.
Rhyl laid siege in an effort to get back into the game with Ben Nash and Harwood spurning openings.
Dave MacIntyre finally reduced the arrears with three minutes remaining but it was too late to deny Penrhyncoch a hard-fought three points which saw them climb to seventh.
