JD Cymru Premier

NEWTOWN blew the JD Cymru Premier title race wide open with a 2-1 win at leaders TNS on Friday night.

Alex Fletcher opened the scoring after six minutes as Newtown celebrated an early lead only for Adrian Cieslewicz to level for the Oswestry side 10 minutes later.

However the Robins regained the lead on 21 minutes with Lufimpa Mwandwe converting Nick Rushton's cross.

Both sides had spells of possession in an evenly contested Mid Wales derby but it was to prove the visitors night as Chris Hughes' men left Park Hall triumphant.

JD Cymru North

ADAM Jenkins struck a late winner as Guilsfield edged a hard-fought 1-0 win at home to Gresford Athletic.

Elsewhere Penrhyncoch overcame Rhyl with goals from Steff Davies and Ifan Burrell earning the Roosters a 2-1 win with the visitors reducing the arrears late on through Dave MacIntyre.

Llanfair United staged a brave fightback only to fall 3-2 at home to Colwyn Bay.

Toby Jones, Callum Parry and Mitch Bryant goals gave the Seagulls the lead before United hit back with an own goal and Gethin Jones strike but the hosts could not complete their comeback.

Llanrhaeadr also faltered in a surprise 2-1 defeat at home to lowly Buckley Town.

Phil Molyneux struck for the Stags before Dan Graham levelled but an Aled Bellis penalty ensured the Wrexham side claimed a scalp.

MMP-NL Mid Wales League One

LLANIDLOES Town proved too strong for Four Crosses with goals from Ashley Owen and Drew Reynolds completing a 2-0 win to remain on course for the MMP-NL Mid Wales League One title.

A Mark Edmonson double earned Caersws a 2-0 win at home to Llansantffraid while Montgomery Town held Bow Street to a goalless draw at Clostanymur.

Llandrindod Wells and Carno shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Broadway in a match which yielded four red cards.

Geraint Jones earned Carno a point with his side ending with eight men while the 10 man hosts struck through Robbie Nicholls.

Elsewhere Builth Wells made light work of Tywyn Bryncrug with the Bulls making the long trip home 6-1 victors.

FAW Trophy

WELSHPOOL Town's brave Welsh Trophy bid came to an end in a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Holyhead Hotspur.

Corey Williams starred with two goals for the Anglesey side and despite the best efforts of the hosts their trophy run came to an end at Maesydre.

MMP-NL Mid Wales League Two

BIRTHDAY boy Lyndon Jones struck the winner as Newbridge staged a second-half comeback to prevail 3-2 winners at home to Machynlleth.

A Richie Evans gave Machynlleth the interval lead only for the hosts to hit back through Ollie Woods and Callum Maddy before Jones snatched a last gasp winner.

Rhayader Town ran riot in a 10-2 thrashing of Knighton Town.

Taylor Wozencraft led the rout with a hat-trick while Jamie Evans, Jordan McFadden and Tommy Rowlands each struck twice with an own goal completing the double figures.

Waterloo Rovers returned from Abermule with the spoils with goals from Ryan Ellis, Tom Ellis and Andrew Gwilt earning the Welshpool side a 3-0 win.

Penparcau were also 3-0 winners with goals from Neil Evans, Ben Lewis and Mark Gornall earning their side the spoils at home to Forden United.

Borth United and Churchstoke battled to a 1-1 draw at Uppingham Field with Ryan Davies netting for the hosts while Kelvin Sargeant struck for the Marketmen.

Elsewhere Dolgellau prevailed 3-0 winners at home to Dyffryn Banw while Presteigne celebrated a 3-1 win at Aberystwyth University.

Watson Financial Mid Wales League South

BRECON Northcote eased to a 5-0 win at home to Llandrindod Wells Reserves.

Kyle O'Shea and Owain Williams both netted twice with Curtis Williams completing the scoring.

Brecon Corinthians also toasted a 5-0 win at Felindre with doubles each from Craig Evans and Gareth Aplin while Nathan Collacott also netted.

A Mason Jones double earned Llanidloes Town Reserves a 2-1 win at home to Penybont United while Alex Simmonds was the match winner as Talgarth Town won 1-0 at Newcastle.

Meanwhile St Harmon won 4-0 at Builth Wells Reserves and Presteigne Reserves edged a 3-2 win at home to Hay St Marys on Friday night.

RYAN Broadbent starred with two goals as Llanrhaeadr Reserves celebrated a 3-0 win at Llanymynech in the second round of the Llansantffraid Village Cup with Barry Morris completing the tally.
