RYAN Edwards claimed two gold medals at the Welsh Junior Indoor Championships in Cardiff.
Welshpool High School student and Maldwyn Harriers Athletics Club member leapt 6.42m to claim gold in the men’s under 17s long jump and an effort of 13.55m secured gold in the triple jump.
The latest results ensured Edwards climbed into the UK top five rankings for triple jump and second in long jump in his age group.
Edwards added a third medal to his haul with bronze in the men’s under 17s 200m with a time of 23.98 having set a new PB of 23.66 in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile Newtown’s Alex Breeze stormed to gold in the men’s under 15s 3000m with a time of 10.00 while Welshpool and fellow Maldwyn Harriers star Maddie Griffiths took gold in the girls event with a time of 10.54.07.
