NORTH Powys returned from the Inter Area Netball Championship in Cardiff having secured their best ever point s tally.

The under 16 side B side lost narrowly 10-9 to South East Wales before Abbie Jones inspired her side to an 11-9 victory over North West Wales to end with nine points.

Jones was further rewarded with the coach’s player award.

Coach Jackie Lowrie said: “It has been a pleasure to coach these girls. Securing a win against North West was the icing on the cake.”

Meanwhile Gleision beat Rhayader 28-26 in a thriller in the latest round of the Radnorshire Netball League.

Goal attacker Chaya Holmer starred for Gleision while goalkeeper Beth Rees was the stand out player for Rhayader.

Beacon also edged a thriller against Painscastle with Sian Young starring for Beacon who prevailed 30-28 winners while Phil Torrance was the player of the match for Castle.
