Llangfeni Town 1 Llanfair United 3

GETHIN Jones starred as Llanfair United returned from Llangefni Town celebrating their first win of the season.

United goalkeeper Mark Richards kept the hosts at bay early on and denied Mel McGuinness from the penalty spot as early as the eighth minute.

United made the most of the reprieve and led on 24 minutes when Ryan Evans' free-kick was flicked on by Gethin Jones for Gethin Stephens to net.

The visitors doubled their lead 12 minutes later with Karl Seliaerts releasing Jones to slot past an advancing Stephen Sinclair.

Llanfair were in dreamland just before the break with Ryan McVeagh bursting through to square for Jones to complete his double.

Llangefni were back in the game on the hour with Matthew Jones' tame shot deflected off Stephens and beyond Richards.

Llanfair looked to put the game to bed with Jones' overhead kick forcing Sinclair into action before McVeagh and Matt Bumford went close.

Llangefni laid laid in the final stages but United held firm to ensure a happy trip home from the proud capital of Anglesey.
