NEWTOWN’S iconic Dolerw Park hosted the annual Powys Schools Cross Country Championship last week.
Up and coming athletes from across the county went head to head with the results as follows:
Lower junior boys: First - Evan Roberts, Llanfyllin, 11.42; Second - Meurig Rees, Calon Cymru, 1146; Third - Fin Davies, Calon Cymru, 12.06.
Lower junior girls: First - Mackenzie McCourt, Welshpool, 11.45; Second - Ruby Hurdman, Brecon, 11.56; Third - Mya Bradley, Llanfair Caereinion, 12.35.
Junior boys: First - Aled Breeze, Newtown, 14.57; Second - Callum Morgan, Welshpool, 15.29; Third - Owen Price-Davies, Gwernyfed, 15.51.
Junior girls - First - Maddie Griffiths, Welshpool, 13.02; Second - Seren Kershaw, 14.30; Caitlyn Bloor, Llanfair Caereinion, 14.39.
Middle boys: First - Deri McCluskey, Llanfyllin, 17.07; Second - Spencer Davies, Calon Cymru, 18.20; Third - Oliver Jones, Newtown, 18.31.
Middle girls: First - Zoe de Zeeuw, Welshpool, 20.01; Second - Aoife Matthews, Bro Hyddgen, 20.07; Third - Carys Breeze, Newtown, 20.55.
Senior boys: First - Carwyn Owen, Welshpool, 17.08; Second - Euros Evans, Bru Hyddgen, 17.42; Third - Sam Holwill, Newtown, 20.32.
Senior girls: First - Shimena Laing, Christ College, 19.16; Second - Kate Pugh, Welshpool, 19.47; Third - Anais Padock, Welshpool, 22.45.
