JD Welsh Cup

NEWTOWN ensured themselves not victims of a fourth round cup upset with a comfortable 4-1 win at home to JD Cymru North side Rhyl.

Nick Rushton gave the Robins a dream start with a second minute opener only for Rhyl to reply through Tom Creamer 15 minutes later with the sides still level pegging at the break.

However Newtown pulled away after the break with Ian Sheridan heading home on 68 minutes before Craig Williams rifled home on 74 minutes to give the home side a deserved cushion.

Substitute George Harry made an immediate impact upon his arrival to slot home four minutes later as the Robins booked their fifth round spot.

Meanwhile TNS made light work of Aberystwyth Town at Park Hall with a 4-0 win ensuring their place in the next round.

Ryan Brobbel gave the Saints a dream start inside the opening five minutes before Danny Redmond doubled the lead 10 minutes later.

It was all over on the hour as Dean Ebbe added a third before Greg Draper completed the scoring with nine minutes left on the clock.

JD Cymru North

LLANFAIR United celebrated their first win of the season with a 3-1 win at Llangefni Town in JD Cymru North.

Gethin Jones starred with a double in Anglesey while Gethin Stephens completed the scoring with Matthew Jones reducing the arrears for the hosts.

Elsewhere Adam Jenkins' 84th minute winner completed Guilsfield's comeback in a 3-2 win at home to Llandudno.

Goals from Danny Hughes and Dean Seagar gave the Seasiders a two goal interval break only for the Guils to hit back through Steve Blenkinsop and Chris Cathrall before Jenkins completed the fightback late on.

Meanwhile honours ended even at Cae Baker as Penrhyncoch shared a goalless draw at home to Bangor City.

MMP-NL Mid Wales League One

Caersws stormed back to winning ways following their mid-season slump with a 7-0 trouncing of Tywyn Bryncrug at the Recreation Ground.

Peter Rees and Jamie Hyne shared the limelight with hat-tricks while Steve Cheng completed the drubbing.

Bow Street made light work of Montgomery Town in MMP-NL Mid Wales League One with a 4-0 win at Cae Piod.

Goals from Lee Crumpler, Llyr Davies, Josh Crowl and Llion Jenkins won the day for the Magpies.

Builth Wells saw off an improving Llansantffraid 3-1 at the Lant.

Chris Jones saw red early on for the Bulls but goals from Christian Jones, Richie Powell and Greg Preece ensured the spoils with the Saints.

Carno and Radnor Valley shared the spoils in a goalless draw at Ty Brith while a Joe Haycock double and strike from Andy Evans and Steff Rogers completed Berriew's 4-0 win at Four Crosses.

Elsewhere league leaders Llanidloes Town proved too strong for Kerry with goals from Gregg Brown, Gareth Owen, Connor Bird and Josh Hartrick along with an own goal cancelling replies from Luke Mumford and Mat Mumford.

Welshpool Town toasted a 5-2 win at home to Aberaeron with Will Thomas and Martyn Ziemann both netting doubles with Tai Jones completing the scoring.

MMP-NL Mid Wales League Two

Aberystwyth University proved too strong for Abermule as the Students marched to a 4-1 win in MMP-NL Mid Wales League Two.

Leo Kelly broke the deadlock from 30 yards before Adam Gascoigne completed a hat-trick as the hosts celebrated a comfortable win.

Tom Ellis struck twice with Luke Evans completing the scoring as Waterloo Rovers won 3-1 at Borth United who replied through Ryan Davies.

Dolgellau completed a league double over Penparcau with a 3-1 win at Cae Marian while Sion Herman and Kejan Foryszewski goals earned Newbridge a 2-0 win at Dyffryn Banw.

Forden United hit back for a draw in a 3-3 thriller at home to Rhayader Town with Josh Morgan, Jake O'Donnell and Ben Roberts goals for the hosts cancelling a Taylor Wozencraft double and Kai Evans strike for the Kites.

A Natty Caslin four goal blast earned Churchstoke a 4-1 win at Knighton Town while Harry Vince-Holt and Max Jones doubles and a goal from Richie Evans completed Machynlleth's 5-1 win at Presteigne.

Watson Financial MWLS

DAFYDD Carruthers starred with a hat-trick with Mason Jones completing the scoring as Llanidloes Town Reserves eased to a 4-0 win at home to Talgarth Town in the Watson Financial Mid Wales League South.

Newcastle eased to 6-2 win at home to Builth Wells Reserves with Callum Jones and Aaron Evans netting consolations for the Bulls.
