COBRA booked their place in the final of the RGC regional Cup with a 22-0 derby win over Newtown.

The Meifod hosts were led to glory by Aled Davies who crossed for two tries while Josh Evans and Lewis Thomas also crossed the whitewash with Iestyn Price adding one conversion.

COBRA now face the winners of the outstanding semi-final between Rhyl and Mold.

The winners of that match will progress to the North Wales final at Eirias Park in in Colwyn Bay at the end of the season.

Coach Alun Pryce said: “I am really proud of the players. They played superbly and to be fair they have been fantastic all season.

“They deserved this result and to progress to the final.

“We are building some momentum now and looking forward to the final against Rhyl or Mold.

“It would be a great reward for these players if we ended the season in the North Wales Final in Colwyn Bay.”
