Radnor Valley 2 Welshpool Town 4
WELSHPOOL Town will fly the flag in the next round of the Welsh Trophy following a dominant display at Radnor Valley.
The Lilywhites raced ahead in the all MMP-NL Mid Wales League One clash at School Lane with veteran Martyn Ziemann leading the way with a double.
Ziemann also had a hand in Pool’s opener with Ricky Litchfield on target before Ziemann opened his account with a headed effort from Litchfield's cross.
Welshpool were reduced to 10 men soon after with Jake Mann seeing red but despite their numerical disadvantage extended their lead with Will Thomas releasing Ziemann to complete his brace
Thomas completed Pool’s tally before Valley rallied with late replies from Callum Matthews and Rees Morris but it was too late to prevent Welshpool celebrating their place in the quarter-finals.
