MACHYNLLETH have completed a coup by swooping to bring Gwynfor Edwards to Cae Glas.

The highly respected former Llandysul manager parted company with MMP-NL Mid Wales League One side Carno on Friday.

However ambitious MMP-NL Mid Wales League Two promotion chasers Machynlleth have ensured the popular Edwards to the club as coach and will work with manager Luke Vince-Holt.

Edwards said: "I’m working with Luke, and we’ll see how things go.

"Luke will remain as manager and it’s a situation that works well for the club and myself.

"I can’t wait to get started."

Meanwhile Edwards praised the Carno Football Club committee and backed successor Gary Jones.

"I’d like to thank the club for the opportunity and I’m happy the club are in good hands with Gary.

"New players are coming in and the ship is steadying.

"I'd also like to thank the committee for their unwavering support throughout."

Meanwhile a statement from Machynlleth Football Club read: "The club is pleased to announce the arrival of Gwynfor Edwards to the club as a coach after his departure from Carno.

"He brings with him a wealth of coaching experience and will also be a great vocal point from the sidelines with player-manager Luke Vince-Holt on the field."
