PENRHYNCOCH were made to toil before returning from lowly Corwen triumphant.
Both sides went close early on with Joe Williams testing Penrhyncoch goalkeeper Leigh Jenkins before Jonny Evans low headed effort was saved by home stopper Dylan Jones at the other end,
Evans was not to be denied on 20 minutes and rose to head home Matthew Pemberthy’s corner to break the deadlock.
Williams forced Jenkins into action again as Corwen looked to restore parity before Evans headed onto the post as Penrhyn continued to threaten.
Corwen ended the half on top with Tom Williams crossing for Joe Williams who headed wide from close range.
Dale Davies headed wide for the hosts at the start of the second-half and Penrhyncoch made the most of their reprieve on the hour with Steffan Davies stabbing home from close range as the Roosters doubled their lead.
Ten minutes later Guto Huws settled the outcome with a sweet curling effort from the edge of the area.
Corwen continued to toil with Davies heading over the bar before reducing the arrears with 10 minutes remaining as Jenkins fumbled Eilir Edwards’ corner into his own net.
However it proved to be a consolation as Penrhyn saw out the remainder of the game to toast a hard fought three points.
