CARNO Football Club and manager Gwynfor Edwrads have parted company by mutual consent.

The former Llandysul manager took the helm of the MMP-NL Mid Wales League One club last summer but has stood down from the role due to travelling demands.

Assistant manager Gary Jones has been appointed the club's new manager with his first match in charge against Four Crosses on Saturday.

Jones has previous managerial experience at Maesyrhandir having steered the Newtown club to promotion to the first division of the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League before a short spell at the helm of Churchstoke in MMP-NL Mid Wales League Two.

A club statement read: "Everyone at the club would like to thank Gwynfor for his time at the club and wish him all the best for the future."
