LLANIDLOES Town resume their MMP-NL Mid Wales League One title bid at bottom of the table Llansantffraid on Saturday.

The Daffodils will bid to avoid a repeat of last season’s defeat at Treflan which dented their title bid.

A club spokesman said: “We go into this game as favourites which was very much the same scenario last year for this fixture.

“However Llansantffraid turned us over 3-0 that day so we will treat this encounter with kid gloves.

“We mustn’t take our eye off the ball like we did last season and we will look to improve our finishing in front of goal as it is of utmost importance that we take every chance we get.”

Meanwhile Carno manager Gwynfor Edwards has challenged his side to raise their standards for the visit of Four Crosses.

The Greens crashed out of the Central Wales Cup last week with Edwards unhappy with the level of performance.

“Credit to Tywyn for a good second half performance but we gave it to them on a plate really and these standards are not acceptable,” said Edwards.

“We’re not far from what we need to be but the inconsistency is a real headache.

“I’m confident that when the team clicks we’ll be absolutely flying.”

Crosses manager Michael Barton conceded his young side were struggling and expected a tough test at Ty Brith.

“It is always a tough game at Carno,” said Barton. “We are in need of a good performance having lost three on the bounce and the young lads are finding it hard at the moment.”

Elsewhere Kerry travel to Bow Street with manager Alex Cookson backing his side to return to form.

“We are looking to bounce back after a couple of disappointing results,” said Cookson. “The performances haven’t been up to the standards we’d set so I’m hoping to see a reaction from our players.”

Meanwhile Tywyn Bryncrug bid to continue their cup form at home to Montgomery Town.

A spokesman said: “Hopefully we can build on the positive performance at Carno in the league and start picking up some results and climb the table.”

Monty expect a battle with a club spokesman saying: “Tywyn is always a very tough game, especially away from home.

“However we’ll travel prepared with the aim to come away with the points.”
