MALDWYN Leisure Centre will become the home of Mid Wales hockey in 2020.
Ongoing issues at Welshpool’s Flash Leisure Centre have forced both tenants to seek an alternative home.
With no end in sight to the Flash saga both Welshpool and Llanfair Caereinion begin their tenancy in Newtown this weekend.
Llanfair Caereinion entertain Dysynni at 10.30 before Welshpool kick off their 2020 against Bala at 12.15.
Meanwhile Newtown also recommence their North Wales Women’s League One campaign at Pwllheli.
Elsewhere Newtown begin their calendar year at Old Silhillians in the South West Midlands Premier Men’s League.
