LLANRHAEADR have completed a raft of new signings ahead of their JD Cymru North clash with Colwyn Bay on Saturday.

The Tanat Valley club has bolstered its ranks with the arrival of midfielder George Mitten and defender Rob Shone from Four Crosses.

Both players make the step up from MMP-NL Mid Wales League One.

Meanwhile the club has further bolstered its ranks with the previously unattached Barry Morris, Lewis Davies and Endaf Owens signing up.

The village club are riding high following a superb first half of the season but head into the weekend without Tom Gale, Gary Meredith and Tom Evans who are each suspended after red cards against Guilsfield last week while Matty Evans is also ruled out.

Director of football Marc Griffiths said: “George is a player we have been watching over the last couple of seasons.

“He has all the attributes to be a success in the Cymru North and at only 23 he is only going to improve by playing at this standard.

“Rob captained FC Oswestry Town for two seasons and is another great addition.”

Griffiths insisted the club remained on the look out for more new blood to ensure the squad remained competitive.

“We are still looking at bringing in a couple of new faces. The lads we brought in at beginning of the season have helped us massively and we feel more competition in the squad can only benefit us all,” said Griffiths.

“The club is flying high at the moment and it’s great that we can offer players that often get overlooked the opportunity to show their talent in the second tier of Welsh football.”

Griffiths backed the villagers to return to form following last week’s derby defeat.

“We dominated but didn’t take our chances,” said Griffiths. “The lads know this and can’t wait to get back out there and put it right.

“Colwyn Bay are a good footballing side and like to play the right way which is difficult to do on our pitch so it will be about who adapts to the conditions.”

Meanwhile Penrhyncoch travel to Corwen on a high.

Midfielder Guto Huws has returned to the club from Bangor University and is added to the squad.

Meanwhile the Roosters have also been boosted by star midfielder Jack Rimmer’s decision to reject the advances of JD Cymru Premier side Aberystwyth Town to remain at Cae Baker.

Manager Gari Lewis said: “Jack has shown the club fantastic loyalty and we appreciate him staying. He is destined for a bright future at the top level eventually.

“Guto gives us something different and is a wonderfully gifted player with a first class attitude.”

Penrhyn travel without the unavailable Owain James and injured Steffan Gittins with Lewis wary of an upset.

“Corwen were a really good against us earlier on in the season ,” said Lewis.
