LLANRHAEADR completed their second game in 48 hours with a 6-0 win at Kerry in the third round of the Central Wales Cup on Sunday.

Having played against Guilsfield in the JD Cymru North just a day earlier the battle weary visitors made the trek from the Tanat Valley to take on MMP-NL Mid Wales League One side Kerry.

Marc Griffiths starred for Llanrhaeadr with the veteran completing a four goal haul while Matthew Evans and Iwan Matthews goals ensured an emphatic margin of victory.

However Griffiths insisted the fixture scheduling had been far from ideal with players asked to play twice in as many days.

“We picked up a few injuries as a result of playing on Saturday and again on Sunday,” said director of football Griffiths. “It was far from ideal and hope ourselves or no other club is put in that position again in the cup this season.”

Griffiths added: “We don’t blame Kerry for not wanting to give up home advantage and play midweek at a neutral venue as we suggested but obviously it was a big ask for our lads.”

Llanrhaeadr general manager Phil Roberts and Kerry manager Alex Cookson conducted the fourth round draw after the game.
