COBRA 18

Bro Ffestiniog 10

COBRA opened the New Year with a battling home win over Bro Ffestiniog.

The Meifod hosts began well but the visitors weathered the early storm and led when flanker Huw Parry charged down a clearance and stormed over for the opening try which Matt Hayden converted.

However Bro were reduced to 14 men when second row Dylan Daniels was sin binned for continued infringements and the hosts capitalised with prop Bryn Edwards crossing for a try following a rolling maul.

COBRA soon led with No8 Jack Jukes breaking down the flank before releasing centre Llew Williams to cross with fly-half Will Worthington adding the extras.

Bro Ffestiniog continued to be their own worst enemy with indiscipline leading to No8 Dewi James being sin binned at the start of the second-half.

However COBRA’s own discipline waned and conceded a succession of penalties with only one converted by Hayden to reduce the deficit.

COBRA ended the match with 14 men with Lee Hughes binned for a deliberate trip but the hosts dug deep to see out the remainder of the game to toast the points.
