Llanrhaeadr 0 Guilsfield 3

GUILSFIELD claimed the derby bragging rights as Llanrhaeadr suffered a day to forget at Tanllan.

The Guils took the game to the hosts from the first whistle and led when Adam Jenkins fired home after being teed up by Adam Davies after just 11 minutes.

Llanrhaeadr threatened with Gary Meredith lashing over the bar five minutes later and the derby remained evenly poised until 10 minutes before the break.

Jake Cook was brought down in the area by Tom Gale who received his marching orders with Davies calmly slotting past home goalkeeper Jimmy Hayns from the resulting penalty.

Guilsfield could have put the game to bed by half-time only for Jenkins’ free-kick to be headed wide by Callum Bromley.

Llanrhaeadr were reduced to nine men on the hour with Tom Evans earning his second caution but despite their numerical disadvantage the hosts frustrated the Guils with Jenkins spurning several openings.

Llanrhaeadr were down to eight men with 15 minutes remaining with Meredith dismissed following an altercation with Jolyon Harries.

Iwan Matthews struck the post with a free-kick for Llanrhaeadr with eight minutes remaining before Cook completed the scoring for Guilsfield with the last kick of the game.
