HARRY Jukes ensured COBRA ended 2019 on a high with victory at Dolgellau in North Wales League One.

The wing proved in unstoppable form with a hat-trick of tries inspiring the Meifod side to a morale boosting win at Cae Marian.

Jukes wasted little time in opening his account with the deadlock broken by his his first try inside the opening three minutes with Will Worthington converting.

Brother Jack Jukes doubled the visitors tally soon after with the No8 worming his way over the whitewash with Worthington again kicking the extras.

COBRA completed their first-half dominance just before the break with Harry Jukes charging down a clearance before gathering and racing over for his second try, converted by Worthington.

Dolgellau finally came into the game with a try on 55 minutes with centre Owain Thomas offloading to No8 Dewi Thomas to cross for a try which centre Gwion Jones converted.

COBRA resisted further home pressure until 12 minutes from time when Thomas set up second row Marius Jones to barge over for a try with Jones converting.

COBRA were sparked back into life with Jukes completing his hat-trick with Worthington again converting.

COBRA put the seal on a satisfying victory at the death with centre Aled Humphreys releasing wing Iolo White to cross for a try with Worthington converting.

To their credit the hosts continued to attack and were rewarded with a try late into injury time with hooker Celt Lewis crossing with Jones adding the extras.

However it was not enough to prevent the Meifod side returning home with a bonus point win.

The result ensured COBRA climbed out of the relegation zone and upto eighth position while trading places with their hosts who dropped into the league basement.

COBRA open their 2020 calendar at home to Bro Ffestiniog on Saturday before travelling to Nant Conwy and welcoming Bethesda to Meifod on January 18.
