LLANIDLOES Town claimed the local bragging rights with a 3-2 win at Caersws on Boxing Day.

A bumper crowd of more than 500 descended on the Recreation Ground for the eagerly anticipated derby.

Caersws struck through Peter Rees and Jamie Hyne only for Llanidloes to storm back with goals from George Clarke and Ashley Owen before snatching a late victory through Connor Bird’s 30 yard free-kick.

Meanwhile Berriew stormed to a 6-0 win at Kerry with Joe Haycock netting twice while Jonathan Jones, George Mitten, Steffan Rogers and debutant Andy Evans completing the scoring.

Aberaeron and Bow Street shared the spoils with a goalless draw while Llandrindod Wells edged a 2-1 win at home to Builth Wells with goals from Robbie Nicholls and Mike Collister cancelling a reply from Greg Preece.

Meanwhile Alex Morgan starred with a double as Forden United prevailed 3-1 winners at Waterloo Rovers.

Steve Roberts completed the Forden tally while Adam Gough replied for the Welshpool hosts.

Rhayader Town shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Newbridge with Jamie Evans netting for the Red Kites while Ollie Woods struck for the Bridgemen.

Knighton Town won a thrilling East Radnor derby with a 4-3 win at home to Presteigne with Tom Crichton completing a hat-trick in vain for the visitors.

Elsewhere Dyffryn Banw staged an upset with a 3-1 win at home to a previously unbeaten Penparcau.

Alwyn Jones crossed for Gerallt Evans to head Banw into the lead inside the opening five minutes with home goalkeeper Sion Williams making a string of saves to preserve the Llangadfan side's lead until the second-half.

Penparcau levelled through Steffano Antoniazzi but Banw stormed back through Alwyn Jones' 66th minute free-kick before Jack Jones' surged through the Arky defence to square for debutant Ollie Higgins to settle the outcome in injury time.

Meanwhile Dolgellau and Machynlleth battled out a 3-3 draw at Cae Marian.

The hosts led with goals from Jake Jones, Charlie Owen and David Edwards before Mach staged a comeback with Jac Petrie and a Richie Evans double earning a share of the spoils.
