NEWTOWN host Aberystwyth Town on Boxing Day in the first of back to back derby clashes.
The Robins go into the game in flying form and could leap into the top six for the first time this season with victory over the Seasiders.
Manager Chris Hughes said: “We beat them in both games last season and we aim to do the same again.
“We always look forward to these fixtures and I am sure Aberystwyth do as well. They are big games and obviously a massive derby.”
Newtown won at lowly Penybont last weekend with Hughes praising his squad for maintaining their impressive end of year form which has seen the club boost its top six hopes.
“We cancelled each other out in the first-half but we played better after the break and created more chances,” said Hughes. “I felt we played very well and deserved the three points.”
Hughes refused to look at the table but with sixth placed Cefn Druids facing back to back games with leaders TNS the Robins go into the festive period knowing six points would boost their top six hopes.
Struggling Airbus and leaders TNS also face the Robins the New Year as the race for a top six spot before the mid-season split reaches its climax.
“We will look to ourselves and enjoy our Christmas before the Boxing Day game,” said Hughes.
Meanwhile ex-Aberystwyth Town defender and Latham Park terrace hero Craig Williams returns to contention following the birth of his second son on Friday evening
Should he be selected Williams will play his 401st top flight game.
