Ruthin Town 1 Guilsfield 1

ROBBIE James proved Guilsfield’s last action hero with a late equaliser rescuing a point at Ruthin Town.

An even match at the Memorial Fields looked destined to end a goalless stalemate before a frantic finale saw both sides net in the closing stages.

The depleted Guils made the trip shorn of a crop of key players with goalkeeper Mike Jones joining defenders Sam Litchfield and Jack Richards and forwards Steve Blenkinsop and Adam Davies on the sidelines.

However goalkeeper Lee Andrew made the most of his opportunity to shine with a man of the match display which included a host of saves during the first-half.

The Guils also threatened with Aaron Lloyd denied by the crossbar in the 15th minute.

The second-half was a tamer affair before the hosts were awarded a penalty on the stroke of full-time with Llyr Morris converting after Gwion Owen was fouled.

The villagers refused to surrender and with seconds remaining of injury-time snatched a point with Robbie James levelling.
