NEWTOWN enjoyed a triumphant first ever visit to Penybont as the Robins toasted a 2-0 win.

Kieran Mills-Evans made the breakthrough for the Mid Wales side with a close range 51st minute header and despite the hosts rallying the points were secured by Niall Flint with 15 minutes remaining.

Meanwhile TNS' title challenge received a dent with the defending champions and league leaders slipping to a 2-1 defeat at home to Cardiff Metropolitan on Friday night.

Joel Edwards back heeled the Archers into an early lead before Ryan Brobbel levelled with a goal on his 100th appearance for the Saints.

Will Evans restored the capital side's lead shortly after the break and despite Edwards seeing red for the visitors late on the Cardiff side remained resolute to celebrate their first ever win at Park Hall.

PENRHYNCOCH overcame the spirited challenge of basement side Llanfair United to complete a 3-1 win at Cae Baker.

Jonny Evans headed home Jack Rimmer's 37th minute corner to break the deadlock for the Roosters with Llanfair levelling before the break.

Penrhyn were dealt a blow with Steff Davies seeing red shortly after the interval only for the 10 men to restore their lead through Rimmer's free-kick on the hour before turning provider for Ifan Burrel to complete victory late on.

Meanwhile Guilsfield snatched an injury time equaliser in a frantic finale in a 1-1 draw at Ruthin Town who had led through Llyr Morris' 89th minute penalty only for the Guils to rally and snatch a point at the death.

Elsewhere Llanrhaeadr battled to a 2-1 win at Bala over Corwen with goals from Joe Vaughan and Khyam Wyton giving the Tanat Valley side the lead before the struggling hosts reduced the arrears through Joe Williams with 15 minutes remaining.
