LLANRHAEADR travel to Bala on Saturday with JD Cymru North new boys Corwen their hosts.

The match has been switched to the 3G pitch at Maes Tegid to ensure the fixture beats the weather with the Montgomeryshire side relishing the challenge.

Senior player Marc Griffiths insisted Corwen would be a challenge not to be underestimated despite struggling since stepping up from the Wrexham League this season.

“It will be an interesting game as it’s now being played on the 4G in Bala,” said Griffiths. “Over the past two seasons our players have developed a lot technically so Saturday will be a good test to see how far they have come.

“Corwen took us all the way in the early part of the season so we expect another tough test.”

Meanwhile the villagers will close their calendar year the following week with a trip to Gresford Athletic.

Griffiths maintained the Wrexham side would climb the table following a poor start to the campaign.

“I feel Gresford’s league position is a false reflection on them as a side,” said Griffiths. “They have a lot of quality in that side and I’m sure it won’t be long until they start climbing the table but hopefully not until the New Year.”
