MEGAN Costall has ended 2019 on a high.

The 16 year old Newtown High School student has emerged one of the country’s leading up and coming archers.

At the end of last month the Newtown teenager represented Wales at the Archery GB Indoor Nationals at Stoneleigh Park in Coventry and claimed a horde of medals.

Costall represented Wales and claimed silver in the under 18s junior ladies competition before helping her country to second and another silver medal in the Home Nations competition.

Not content with her haul the Mid Wales based star stepped up to the adult competition and went up against more than 70 of the top archers in the country in shooting at a three spot 20cm target face.

Costall ended qualifying in 23rd place to make the cut for the head to end round where she was beaten by 10th place ranked Sally Gilder.

Next year will see the teenager continue her studies at Newtown High School where she is studying her GCSEs with an ambition of having a career in sports psychology and exercise physiology while also continuing to pursue her archery ambitions.

The Hafren Forester Archery Club member is also part of the Lilleshall National Sports Centre based Archery GB Academy which aims to develop promising archers into nationally and internationally competitive athletes.

Costall currently trains 17 hours per week alongside her school studies with her dream to represent Great Britain at the Archery GB Conversion Youth Squad and compete at the Olympics in the future.
