The ever popular Mid and North Powys Junior Football Winter League is up and running.
Once again the competition is sponsored by Quartix whose representative Ian Pawley represented a cheque to Mid and North Powys JFL administration secretary Paul Inns last week.
Paul Hamer, Winter League organiser, said: “’The Winter League has been running for a few years now, and is held on the 3G at Latham Park over the months of December and January.
“It provides an opportunity for youngsters aged between12-16 years old to continue playing football during a period when they would otherwise be unable to do so.
“The sponsorship monies from Quartix are hugely helpful in ensuring that we can continue to provide the Winter League in the region.”
The start of this season’s Winter League comes at a time when calls for investment into the region’s sporting infrastructure have been heightened due to Welshpool’s Flash Leisure Centre all weather surface being out of commission and wholesale fixture cancellations across all sports in Radnorshire.
