NATALIE Powell missed out on a medal at the Judo Masters in China last weekend.
The Beulah star and Irfon Judo Club judoka represented Wales at the event in Qingdao, ending seventh in the under 78kg category.
Powell, a bronze medallist in 2018, began well with victory over Holland’s Marhinde Verkerk who was defeated with shime-waza for ippon.
Cuban Kaliema Antomarchi was beaten with Ouchi Gari for ippon in the third round.
However Powell lost to China’s Fei Chen in the quarter-final to end her hopes of gold.
Powell lost to Korean Jeongyun Lee in the Repechage to leave the Welsh star in seventh place.
