COBRA 5 Ruthin 13
COBRA continue to struggle in the North Wales League One basement following a home defeat at the hands of Ruthin.
Despite standing water on the Meifod pitch the surface was deemed acceptable for play with the visitors soon breaking the deadlock through Nathan Jones' penalty.
Ruthin extended their lead following a five metre line-out with a series of scrums and drives culminating in a try for Rob Lewis with Jones converting.
COBRA started the second-half with intent and reduced the arrears with an unconverted try.
However Ruthin were soon back in the ascendancy and restored their healthy advantage with a penalty from Jones.
COBRA rallied late on but a dogged defensive display from Ruthin ensured no way back for the hosts.
COBRA: H Jones, Isaac, Williams, Bright, R Evans, Hughes, D Jones, Jukes, McKay, Worthington, B Roberts, Vaughan, R Jones, J Davies, C Roberts. Reps - Edwards, Lewis, Launder, R Jones, B Davies.
