Ruthin Town 3 Penrhyncoch 1

PENRHYNCOCH lost their early lead as Ruthin Town hit back for the points at Memorial Field.

The Roosters led with their first attack of the game with Steff Davies breaking the deadlock after eight minutes after latching onto a long ball.

Ruthin dictated the game with Gwion Owen joined by Llyr Morris and Gwydion Ifan in going close before Osian Davies headed onto the bar.

Davies went close again after half an hour only to be denied by goalkeeper Ryan Goldston with Matt Evans clearing the home lines.

Ruthin levelled a minute later with Kevin Evans heading home Ilan Hughes' corner.

The hosts should have led at the break with Morris clattered by goalkeeper Leigh Jenkins who atoned by denying Hughes from the penalty spot.

However Ruthin led shortly after the break with Owen releasing Morris to fire his side ahead for the first time.

Substitute Tom Roberts tested Jenkins before Ruthin sealed the points with 11 minutes remaining with the ex-TNS ace linking with Dafydd Evans and Hughes to send Morris scampering through to complete his brace.

Penrhyn continued to battle but with the damage done the Roosters made the trip back to the coast empty handed.
