TNS strengthened their lead at the top of the JD Cymru Premier with a convincing 4-1 win at Barry Town Utd on Friday.
The home side's miserable run of form continued despite Jon Hood's leveller moments after Aeron Edwards slotted the Saints into an early lead.
TNS regained the lead soon after with Ryan Brobbel slotting home a penalty to complete a frantic opening 10 minute spell at Jenner Park.
The match remained in the balance until TNS settled the outcome with goals from Dean Ebbe and Jamie Mullan in the last 20 minutes.
Meanwhile Newtown made heavy weather of bottom of the table Carmarthen Town with an own goal proving the difference in a 1-0 win at Latham Park.
Joe Kenton's 11th minute cross was turned into his own net by Dave Vincent and despite dominating much of the remainder of the game the hosts failed to increase their advantage despite a host of chances.
However Carmarthen created precious little during a tepid display as Newtown boosted their top six bid while leaving the visitors in mounting relegation danger.
Meanwhile the JD Cymru North fixture list was hit by the weekend weather, including Llanrhaeadr's Mid Wales derby with Guilsfield at Tanllan.
Elsewhere Penrhyncoch slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Ruthin Town despite leading early through Steff Davies.
Kevin Evans levelled for the hosts who also spurned a penalty before the break with Ilan Hughes wayward from the spot.
Ruthin led five minutes into the second-half with Llyr Morris on target with the same player settling the outcome late on.
Meanwhile Llanidloes Town hit back for a point in a 1-1 draw at Aberaeron with Connor Bird cancelling a Mattie Davies strike for the hosts in MMP-NL Mid Wales League One.
Tom Wynn struck twice as Bow Street battled to a 2-1 win at Four Crosses who replied through Ben Simms.
Mat Mumford's strike earned Kerry a 1-1 draw at Tywyn Bryncrug in the only other game to survive the weather.
Meanwhile Tom Ellis' double and a goal from Nick Roberts earned Waterloo Rovers a 3-1 win at home to Dolgellau in the second round of the ER Jenkins Cup.
Elsewhere a Ryan Edwards hat-trick inspired Penparcau to a 5-2 first round win at home to Borth United with Mike Gornall and Lee Jones strikes cancelling replies from Ryan Davies and Gethin ap Dafydd.
