BISHOPS Castle maintained their pursuit of honours in JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League One with a 3-1 win at Meifod.

Josh Davies struck for the hosts but goals from George Mellor, Kieran Mulloch and Alex Jones won the day for Castle.

Meanwhile Welshpool Town Reserves toasted a 3-2 win at Four Crosses Reserves in Montgomeryshire League Two.

Goals from Warren Powell, Jake Mann and Joe Cadwallader earned the young Lilywhites the spoils with Jake Edwards netting twice in reply for Crosses.

Llanymynech made light work of Llanfechain at Station Road with goals from Callum Whyte, Grant Jones, Jamie Phillips, Adam Biggs and Dan Astley completing a 5-1 win with Rob Edwards netting a consolation.

Elsewhere Newtown Wanderers completed a 3-1 derby win at home to Kerry Reserves with Nathan Hughes, Tyler McCarthy and Neil Lloyd Jones cancelling Ryan Cook’s reply.

Meanwhile a solitary strike from Adam Gough was enough for Waterloo Rovers Reserves to complete a 1-0 win at home to Churchstoke Reserves.
