Penrhyncoch 0 Llanrhaeadr 3

LLANRHAEADR proved too strong for Mid Wales rivals Penrhyncoch.

The Tanat Valley side led inside the opening 10 minutes with Khyam Wyton slotting home from the penalty spot after Iwan Matthews was impeded.

Llanrhaeadr maintained their promising start and two minutes later Matty Williams linked with Matthews to release Joe Vaughan who tested home goalkeeper Leigh Jenkins.

Jenkins was again in action from the resulting corner to deny Wyton his second of the day.

Jenkins continued to keep his side in the game and on 28 minutes the home custodian denied Matthews whose resulting corner struck the woodwork.

Iain Edmunds also saw a goalbound effort blocked in the packed goalmouth as Llanrhaeadr ended the half on top.

Llanrhaeadr remained dominant after the break with Tom Evans lashing over before Williams volleyed against the woodwork.

Llanrhaeadr doubled their lead on the hour with Vaughan following up to net after Wyton's penalty was saved by Jenkins after another foul on Matthews.

Penrhyn enjoyed their best spell of the game with Jonny Evans forcing goalkeeper Jimmy Hayns into action.

However Llanrhaeadr were not to be denied a richly deserved three points and in the final seconds Vaughan released Matthews to slot home from the edge of the area.
