Guilsfield 1 Prestatyn Town 1

GUILSFIELD put a dent in Prestatyn Town's JD Cymru North title bid with a battling home draw at Clos Mytton on Friday.

The Seasiders arrived in Mid Wales keen to bounce back from their shock defeat at Penrhyncoch the previous week but found the Guils resolute.

The villagers should have led inside the opening 15 minutes with Adam Davies breaking through only to lift his shot over the bar under pressure from goalkeeper Jon Rushton.

However Prestatyn broke the deadlock on 32 minutes with Dan Davies cutting inside from the right wing to brush off the attention of James Parry and blast home.

The lead proved shortlived and just two minutes later the hosts hit back with Jolyon Harries opening his account for the season.

The second-half proved a closely contested affair but Guilsfield came closest to snatching victory only for Rushton to palm away a goalbound header from Robbie James.

Both sides battled for the winner but the match ended in a deserved draw.
