MID Wales clubs in the JD Cymru North are back in action this weekend, writes Rory Sheehan.

Llanrhaeadr travel to Penrhyncoch (kick-off 2.30pm) with player-manager Marc Griffiths glad to be back to winning ways after their derby victory at Llanfair last weekend.

But Griffiths is wary after the hosts pulled off one of the shocks of the season, snatching a late win against runaway leaders Prestatyn last Saturday.

He said: “They (Penrhyncoch) are coming off the back of a massive result, beating Prestatyn last week and are in good form.

“We’re looking to get on a run ourselves now, to get back on the horse after Saturday’s win as I don’t think we took a single point in October. It was a tough month for us.”

Despite a dip in form before Saturday’s win, Llanrhaeadr are still in the top six and Griffiths says his squad are not going to take their foot off the gas.

“We’re still up at sixth in the table”, he said.

“But we have a target this season of 33 points so there is still quite a bit of work for us to do.

“Looking ahead to Saturday we have a fully fit squad, and everyone is available as far as I’m concerned.

“We’re hoping to have Gary Meredith back and I’m back myself from a hamstring injury so we should have options.”

Bottom of the table Llanfair make the journey to Denbighshire to face 11th placed Ruthin Town (kick-off 2.30pm), with Llanfair still looking for their first win of the season after the narrow derby defeat to Llanrhaeadr last weekend.
