Builth Wells 20

BUILTH Wells showed no ill effects from their weekend away in Spain with a resounding victory at Resolven in division two west central.

The wet and heavy conditions were not conducive to free flowing rugby and instead the match was one of attrition.

The Bulls led after 20 minutes with wing Mike Powell crossing in the corner and 10 minutes later a penalty from outside half Rob Lloyd extended the advantage.

Builth exerted their control with with powerful and effective surges by the forwards allowing them to gain strategic field positions to launch attacks.

Just before half time back row Ashley Mills crossed for his side’s second try with Lloyd converting.

Builth maintained their dominance after the break and could have put the game to bed early only for the hosts to offer defiance.

However Resolven continued to make handling errors and Builth capitalised when scrum-half Aled Jones crossed for a try following a 20 metre line-out to stay top of the table.

BUILTH: T Davies, Pugh, Jarman, I Evans, Price, Brown, Mills, Beehan, Williams, Lloyd, Baggett, Samuel, T Davies, Powell, Towns. Reps - R Jones, Parry, A Jones, Barrett, Lewis, Nixon.
