NEWTOWN led before Connahs Quay Nomads stormed back to triumph at the Deeside Stadium and maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Both sides threatened early on with Jamie Insall testing goalkeeper Dave Jones while ex-Robin Callum Roberts went close for the hosts.

At the other end Jake Kelly warmed the palms of goalkeeper Lewis Brass before Ian Sheridan fired wide.

Newtown broke the deadlock on 24 minutes with Sean McAllister blasting home from 20 yards.

The lead lasted just five minutes before Roberts left wing cross for Mike Wilde to head home.

Nomads led at the break with Sam Dool’s cross headed into the area by Wilde with Insall steering home from close range.

Roberts’ 25 yartd ob came back off the post with Jones blocking Wilde’s follow up effort as Nomads threatened again on the hour.

Jones continued to keep Nomads at bay with saves to deny Jay Owen and Insall before Mike Bakare cut inside from the left to fire home with five minutes remaining.
