FRIENDS and players of Montgomery Cricket Club gathered at the Town Hall on Saturday evening for their end of season awards dinner.
Chairman John Barker led celebrations by praising the efforts of everyone involved with the club, before the two senior team captains presented their awards for 2019.
Outgoing first team captain Sam Williams presented awards to batsman of the season Aaron Ruff-Cock, bowler of the season and performance of the season Alex Bromley and fielder of the season Ieuan Griffiths.
Second team captain David Jones received the Clubman of the Year award in recognition of his multitude of roles at the club during 2019, ranging from umpiring to helping maintain facilities at Lymore,
Jones presented Matthew Jones with the batsman of the year award while Rob Yewdall was bowler of the year and Richard Jones the fielder of the season.
Meanwhile the up and coming Tom Hughes received the Young Player of the Year in recognition of his nine first team wickets in his debut season for the county town club.
