NEWTOWN endured a night to forget at Bala as Louis Robles' hat-trick sentenced the Robins to a resounding defeat.

Bala never looked back after breaking the deadlock on 12 minutes with Harry Jones curling a 20 yard free-kick beyond goalkeeper Dave Jones.

Both sides threatened with Niall Flint going close for Newtown before Chris Venables steered a header over the bar from Andrew Burns' cross.

Bala doubled their lead just before the break with Venables shrugging off the challenge of Kieran Mills-Evans to cross for Robles to lob Jones.

Bala could have added insult to injury just before half-time only for Jones to fire wide.

Newtown were much improved after the break with Craig Williams and Joe Kenton testing home goalkeeper Josh Tibbetts before the Bala No1 was involved in an altercation with George Harry which earned the latter a red card.

Bala needed just five minutes to capitalise with Jones' low cross met by Robles from close range.

Bala were reduced to 10 men just after the hour with Lassana Mendes dismissed for two cautions.

Anthony Stephens' header was tipped over the bar by Jones before Tibbetts denied Sean McAllister at the other end.

Newtown were forced into a late change with an injured Jones making way for Khamran Steventon.

With three minutes remaining ex-Newtown forward Steve Leslie fired onto the post with Robles following up to complete his hat-trick and Bala's scoring.

NEWTOWN: Jones (Steventon 80); McAllister (M Williams 84), Mills-Evans, Rushton (Sheridan 76), Harry, Kenton, Thorn, C Williams, Flint, Fletcher, Kelly. Sub: Barnes.
