GUILSFIELD travel to Bangor City on Saturday with the villagers refusing to be overawed by their illustrious hosts.

The fallen giants of Welsh football have ensured a turbulent few years since demotion from the JD Cymru Premier with Argentine World Cup winner Pedro Pasculli now at the City helm.

This season the North Wales club, once among the power houses of Welsh football, has signed a plethora of foreign talent and their latest outing ended in a 3-2 defeat to Colwyn Bay in midweek.

Guilsfield director of football Nathan Leonard insisted the villagers had not reason to be intimidated and the Mid Wales side would travel with confidence and look to maintain their bright start to the season.

Leonard said: “It’s going to be another really tough game for us but one we are really looking forward to.

“The lads trained very hard last week with us having no game but I’m sure that won’t be an issue.

“It’s important we don’t start slow after a little break which sometimes happens.”

Leonard insisted he had learned valuable lessons since the club’s last outing which ended in defeat at Colwyn Bay who have since climbed the table.

“I’ve learnt lessons from the Colwyn Bay game and I know the lads don’t want a repeat so our game plan will be clear.

“I really fancy us to get three points and we won’t be sitting back for a draw put it that way.”

Meanwhile Penrhyncoch also hit the road with high flying Flint Town United their hosts on Saturday.

The Silkmen lost out to Connahs Quay Nomads in a physical Deeside derby in the quarter finals of the Nathaniel MG Cup in midweek.

However Flint go into the game as strong favourites having started the season among the early pacesetters.

Penrhyncoch will make the trip with confidence having also enjoyed a fine start to the campaign.
